Seasons are a way of grouping works together based on their expected publication date.
For example, all works publishing in the first quarter of 2027 might be assigned to the season 2025 Q1
, or Winter 2025
, which often ties in with catalogues or sales and marketing campaigns.
Less formally, they are a simple tag for more easily identifying a set of works that will be newly published within a time period.
Each season has its own page in which the system presents high level information on the metadata for the works. This can be used as a readiness overview on the completion of the workflow and metadata completeness.
Seasons can also be used as search conditions in reporting, making it more simple to report on products, works, and contributors for an upcoming set of publications.
